You will need:
Brim
Using 2 strands of yarn together cast on 60 stitches
Knit every row for 1in (about 8 rows)
Body
Row 1: purl
Row 2: knit
Repeat row 1 and 2 until you are 7in from the cast on edge, end with a purl row.
Crown
Row 1: *knit 8, knit 2 together* repeat across (5 more times)
Row 2: purl
Row 3: *knit 7, knit 2 together* repeat across (5 more times)
Row 4: purl
Row 5: *knit 6, knit 2 together* repeat across (5 more times)
Row 6: purl
Row 7: *knit 2 together* repeat across
Row 8: purl
Row 7: *knit 2 together* repeat across
Finishing
Cut yarn 18in from needles, place on yarn needle and thread
through remaining stitches, pull to draw shut and form the top, use
remaining yarn to sew the side seam, weave in all ends (no knots
are needed because the second strand will keep the stitches stable)
